6 Beautiful Furniture DIYs

And here we are in MARCH! It’s been beautiful and very much a lamb here, no lion weather… which I’m perfectly okay with! I’d love to see what you’re working on now that it’s warming up — link up below or tag #imaremodelaholic on Instagram. AND — we are looking for the best IKEA hacks this month, so link up below!

From last month’s party, we’ve chosen some of our favorite furniture pieces:

This boxy to mid-century dresser update at Plaster and Disaster is a testament to the power of a vision and some hard work!

Wood scraps can completely change the look and style of a piece, as evidenced by this dresser makeover at Thirty Eighth Street — the stacked wood drawer fronts give it an updated modern look!

But the classic two-toned is beautiful, too — and the lined drawers and compartments of this stained and painted dresser by Refresh Living are just the perfect touch.

I love the built-in banquette at Bigger Than The Three of Us — the whole dining room is lovely!

And, remember how geeky things are awesome? This Star Wars tie fighter bookshelf from Handmade by Ashley is both a geeky homage AND a great storage solution for kids books!

And this last one isn’t really a DIY, but I just love this dresser with a built-in desk in the comfortable and beautiful guest room at Vanessa’s Modern Vintage Home (it’s a vintage find, but I’ve been thinking that it could be a good IKEA hack, too :).

She believes that planning projects and actually completing them are two different hobbies, but that doesn't stop her from planning at least a dozen projects at any given time. She spends her free time creating memories with her husband and 5 kids, traveling as far as she can afford, and partaking of books in any form available.

  1. Hi Cass! Just wanted to let you know that for the past two weeks, your party never loads for me. I have tried it on more than one computer too. I am using Google Chrome. Not sure if it’s a problem on my end or yours, but wanted to let you know!
