Happy Halloween 2012

Untitled-1 copy

I told you yesterday what we were going to be.  But I had to get to making the costumes,  I tried to just use what I had around the house, in my craft room left overs from other projects… I have a ton of fabric, and a bunch of 3M Scotch Duct Tape, left over from this project.  So, after figuring out what I was going to do with what I had I started creating.

I made a little stencil with the duct tape, which was really helpful because I could wash it when ever I wanted without any problems.

While I was painting, my mother made Lydia’s little pinafore…

Then she helped me embellish Justin’s suit.

THANK YOU MOM!

Then after hours of sewing, we finally finished, got dressed and ran over to wonderland to take some pictures, and now sit back and relax we took a ton of pictures.  Our little Alice was not very happy about having to be stuck in wonderland taking family pictures.  But we got some, and so yeah…

  2. oh my goodness!!! are you all adorable!! i LOVE your costumes!! and i love the fact that you made them!! when our kids were small i used to make all of their costumes, but, unfortunately, they are all growing up and no one wants to dress up…..so i will wait for grandkids (and even that can wait for a bit :))

  3. SO adorable!!!! Why do so many of us crafty people only get inspiration (get in gear) from the LAST MOMENT??? I LOVE your photos. What a family treasure for years to come. One of my favorites is the madhatter walking down the path with his two girls—one in tears!!! That one is priceless! I have two daughters about that agespan apart—their younger years were wonderful and I miss that time!! Your two are beautiful and I wish them many more crafty delightful Halloween memories with such a fun family!

    1. Lyn! here were some MAJOR meltdowns during that little photo shoot! I am glad we got a few happy ones. They are such sweet girls I adore them! It can be a little hard that they are so close in age, but I LOVE that they have each other to play with!

  4. Your family is absolutely adorable!! Love the costumes!!!! You did an awesome job!!! Especially getting your husband to go along with it….mine never does.

    1. I know! I am super lucky that he is so willing- actually we usually take turns deciding what we are going to be each year. It is a fun tradition!
