5 Prom Hairstyles

Prom is often the big event for the school year. The dress is perfect and the shoes are just right. Now a great prom hairstyle is needed to complete the look. These 5 hairstyles will make any one feel like a queen on Prom night.

One Sided Look

This is the right prom look for a soft style that lets your hair down, while still keeping it in place after a night of dancing. Start with curled hair for a voluminous and textured style. Gather hair to one side and keep draped over the shoulder. Secure with pins along the back of the head.

Bun On Top Look

For a polished look that keeps your hair off your shoulders, try this hairstyle. Put hair in a large bun on the top of the head. Make sure hair is slicked down with no fly a ways. Add a thin headband to the front, to complete the look. Choose a headband with a material that color coordinates with your dress or something with rhinestones to add some sparkly to your style.

Half Up Half Down Look

This look gives you the best of both worlds. Start by teasing the roots at the crown to add texture and volume to your hair. Take the side pieces of hair, twist, and secure together at the back of the head with pins and some hairspray. Add curls to the rest of the hair with a large barrel curling iron. Let them lie loose, while trailing down your back.

Braided Look

This can add a sweet, romantic style to any prom look. Braid both side portions of hair. For the back section of hair gather into a ponytail and secure with an elastic band. Twist the ends of the braid around the elastic band to hide it. Add jeweled pins or hair accessories every few inches along the braids on both sides.

Let It Flow Look

As with most things, sometimes simplest is best. Just let your hair fall naturally down. It can either be worn straight or curly. Whatever you decide, because, after all prom, is your chance to look your best in whichever way you choose.
