Friday Favorites: Awesome Upcycles and More

Guess what… I actually have a Friday Favorites post this week! It’s been too long. Sorry. So without further ado…

upcycled porch swing made from an old crib

Favorite upcycle: This porch swing made from a crib (above) went crazy on our Facebook page! It’s a smart upcycle in a great color, too!

Favorite rustic style: (from the link party) Combine some rustic farmhouse cutting boards with some old wood bowls for a CUTE planter! Perfect for succulents or air plants. Redo It Yourself Inspirations used a “fake” antique cutting board (like the ones we shared here) rather than the real deal — but who would know the difference? 🙂

Favorite pallet upcycle: So easy, and great for a display shelf with some rustic style!  (via Andrea’s Notebook on Facebook)

Favorite laundry room: This beauty that I shared over on Instagram just has so much going for it. I love the cabinet setup — drawers under the machines! — and the backsplash is interesting without taking over the room. Love it!

Favorite patriotic craft: These stars and stripes mason jars by Addicted 2 DIY are just adorable, perfect for using all summer long! I bet my girls would love to help paint them. And be sure to click over and read Katie’s instructions to get the right paint layering down for the perfect layered look!

Favorite DIY tip: We saw this tip about using soap to prevent stripped screws over on Facebook. I love smart easy tips like this! Have you ever tried it?

Favorite entryway: Cyndy featured this in her paint color spotlight this month, but I have LOVED this entryway for a long time (and our FB fans loved it too!). I haven’t been able to find that rug in stock anywhere, though, so if you know of a source, I’d love to hear about it!

Favorite random brilliant idea: These “trolley bags” are so smart — they are reusable shopping bags that hook on the front of your cart while you’re shopping, and then you can pop them into the cart as you check out to re-pack your stuff into bags. Seriously, why didn’t I think of that? They are generally well-reviewed on Amazon (affiliate link), so now I just have to figure out how to NOT forget them in my car like I always do!

What are you loving this week?
